On 29th January 1997 Chris Morris’ current affairs satire Brass Eye was first unleashed on an unsuspecting television audience. Thirty years later it’s director, Michael Cumming, begins a tour of his cult film Oxide Ghosts: The Brass Eye Tapes.

Made from hundreds of hours of unseen and behind the scenes footage from his personal archive, and only ever screened at live events, Oxide Ghosts shares insights into the process of making the ground-breaking TV series Brass Eye. Michael directed the series and pilots and, over a two-year period, witnessed the highs and lows from a very personal perspective. The film carries the blessing of Chris Morris and provides a unique glimpse of his extraordinary working practices.

At these special anniversary shows, Michael will be on hand for a Q&A after the film. This event is a must for fans of the series but will appeal to anyone with a curiosity about how great comedy is made.

‘Oxide Ghosts offers a well-judged and very rare insight into Brass Eye’s making. If you're an admirer of the show and the opportunity should arise for you to see it, have some self re-cocking-spect and do so without hesitation' - Chortle

‘In honour of the Brass Eye birthday there have been tributes published and repeats scheduled, but the surprise popularity of an almost unpublicised touring event, called Oxide Ghosts: The Brass Eye Tapes, perhaps says even more about the enduring influence of the show. Oxide Ghosts has been quietly selling out in independent cinemas across the land’ - The Guardian
